Gillian Bardsley, Chief Archivist at the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust, has for the first time examined the story of the life of Sir Alec Issigonis - the mastermind behind two of the most important British cars of the twentieth century; first the Morris Minor and then the Mini, which became a national icon.
A beautifully presented book, drawing upon original sources from the BMIHT archives and Issigonis' own privately recorded memories. It is a tale, which takes on special poignancy with the recent collapse of Longbridge plant in Birmingham where Issigonis worked for many years.
