The Heritage Motor Centre, Gaydon, is offering taster driving sessions for 14 to 17 year olds in dual controlled Freelanders at the Centre's private grounds over the half-term holidays, from the 27-30 May.
Most teenagers would jump at the opportunity to get behind the wheel before they turn 17. The Centre's Stop Start programme offers a safe, fun and basic introduction to driving. Stop Start runs throughout the year and each session is an hour long. Teenagers learn the basics of the controls, preparing to start up, move away safely, how not to stall and how to carry out a cockpit check.
From the 27-30 May the Centre welcomes 14-17 year olds to come and try out a 15 minute taster session for just £7.
After the driving session, teenagers are given notes to refer back to, which they can use when they start real driving lessons. The sessions aim to give teenagers a head start and confidence when behind the wheel, in a safe environment with experienced driving supervisors.
Freddie Hammond aged 14 from Kineton School, who recently took a taster session said: 'It was great fun, especially getting the chance to drive a Freelander! My mates will be dead jealous; I can't wait to learn when I'm 17. I'll definitely be back to take the full hour session, the team here were really friendly.'
Pre booking for the taster sessions is advised.
