SUMMARY:Classic and Vintage Commercial Show
DESCRIPTION: If you are a commercial vehicle enthusiast then this\, the largest classic commercial show in Europe\, is the major show of the year for you to attend and you will not be disappointed. The cut-off date for this year’s entries is 1987\, (although filling in an Application Form or previous attendance at the show does not guarantee an entry to the show). Although this is a two day show only around two thirds of the vehicles attending will have arrived by the Saturday afternoon. We get the rest of the lorries usually turning up on masse early on the Sunday morning. There will also be a display of up to 50 lorries by the Steel Boys\, who arrive early Saturday afternoon. Kelsey Publishing are back again this year and they will be having their own trade stand at the show and there will be another 60 plus trade stands outside with over 10 indoor traders all selling anything from vehicles spares\, photographs\, die-cast models\, brochures\, tools and many more things that are vehicle related. All the trade stands are commercial vehicle/transport related so you should find some of those transport related items that you are looking for. Most of our traders have been with the show from before it moved to Gaydon and in some cases this is the only show that some of the traders now attend\, such is the appeal of the show. There were more than 160 tables of models displayed at the indoor model show\, whether they are kit built or scratch built in many different scales and there is a vast array of working radio control models both inside and outside the museum building. There is plenty to see within the museum itself and if you visit all the areas of the show you will need the weekend to walk around and see everything. Entering a Vehicle To enter a vehicle for the Classic and Vintage Commercial show you can either download an application form\, fill out our online application form or you can ring 01926 645031 for a form to be sent out to you. A vehicle entry entitles you to 1 vehicle pass and 2 free passenger tickets per accepted vehicle. Any further passengers including children within the vehicle need to pay the normal admission price for entry to the show. We do not charge an entry fee for you to enter your vehicle for the show. SUMMARY:Royal Cars ‘Jubilee’ Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:To celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee\, the Heritage Motor Centre will be hosting a special Royal Cars exhibition accompanied by a week of family activities. The Royal Cars exhibition will showcase a number of Royal vehicles including a 1983 Land Rover 110 station wagon\, one of the very first 110 models and The Queen’s private car. The car was used on her private estates of Sandringham and Balmoral but taken out of service in 2001 and replaced by a new model. The car was generously donated by The Queen to the HMC and this will be the first public viewing of the car since the Golden Jubilee. Also on display will be an open topped 1954 series 1 Land Rover\, the first of the bespoke royal Land Rovers known as ‘State IV’. The body was custom designed with a rear platform from which its passengers could view the crowds. The vehicle was part of a fleet which The Queen and Prince Philip took on a 6 month Commonwealth tour after the coronation. Visitors will also be able to see a 1958 Series 11 Land Rover\, a 1968 Princess Vanden Plas Princess limousine and a 1971 Rover Saloon which was the personal property of The Queen. Jubilee Family Activities This week will be packed full of all things red\, white and blue with special Jubilee craft days on Tuesday 5 and Thursday 7 June (11am – 3pm) where families can make crowns and bunting. There will also be a patriotic Jubilee Quiz and even a throne to sit on\, so please encourage your children to come dressed as Kings & Queens and join in the celebrations. There is no extra charge to see the Royal Cars Exhibition as it is included in the standard Museum entry fees.

Last years show was quite a success which was down to all of you who attended and supported the show\, despite the continued high cost of fuel and the recession biting hard. We had over 400 vehicles entries at last years show having reduced the numbers attending following your feedback of what you would like to see. The 25 year dateline was introduced starting with 1985 as the cut-off date. The cut-off date for this year is 1986\, (although filling in an Application form does not guarantee an entry to the show). Last year we had the Morris Commercial Club attending after an absence of a couple of years. They were alongside the likes of the Foden Society\, the ERF Historic Vehicles Limited (formerly REVS) the Mechanical Horse Club and the Ford Transit Club to name but a few. As last year Kelsey Publishing will be having their own trade stand at the show and there will be 60 plus trade stands outside with over 10 indoor traders selling anything from vehicles spares\, photographs\, die-cast models\, brochures\, tools and many more things that are vehicle related. All the trade stands are commercial vehicle/transport related so you should find some of those transport related items that you are looking for. Most of our traders have been with the show from before it moved to Gaydon and in some cases this is the only show that some of the traders now attend\, such is the appeal of the show. We are also hoping to have a little bit of entertainment on the outdoor arena near to the Kelsey stand in the form of Kitten von Mew\, once this has been confirmed we will let you know a little more in Classic and Vintage Commercial Magazine and Classic Van and Pick up magazine and on the HMC website. The indoor model show was its usual great success having more than 160 tables of models displayed\, whether they are kit built or scratch built in many different scales and there is a vast array of working radio control models both inside and outside the museum building. If you are a commercial vehicle enthusiast then this\, the largest classic commercial show in Europe\, is the major show of the year for you to attend and you will not be disappointed. You will need the day and a half to walk around the show and see everything. How to Enter a Vehicle To enter a vehicle for the Classic and Vintage Commercial show you can obtain an application form by either download the form on the left hand side under the downloads heading or you can ring 01926 645031 for a form to be sent out to you alternatively you can fill out our online application form. A vehicle entry entitles you to 1 vehicle pass and 2 free passenger tickets per accepted vehicle. Welcome to the third Classic and Vintage Commercial Show to be held at Gaydon in conjunction with Kelsey Publishing. We had over 500 vehicles at last years show but due to popular demand we have reduced this to 450 vehicles to allow more space for photo opportunities. We have also introduced a 25 year dateline starting with 1985 as the cut-off date. We are also pleased to say that the Morris Commercial Club will be attending after an absence of a couple of years\, so welcome back! They will be alongside the likes of the Foden Society\, the ERF Historic Vehicles Limited ( formerly REVS ) the Mechanical Horse Club and the Ford Transit Club to name but a few. Oxford Diecast will be attending for the second year running with their own larger indoor stand and they hope to issue another model that will be exclusive to the show. The successful indoor model show will hopefully exceed last year's total of more than 160 tables of models displayed\, whether they are kit built or scratch built in many different scales\, and there is a vast array of working radio control models both inside and outside the museum building. Kitten Von Mew\, a family friendly 1940s dance act\, will be performing over the weekend at a new display featuring 40's vehicles.
